

Outline
GT2D core is a 2D graphics accelerator IP core which packages the 2D sprite engine and BitBlt enigne of the GSHARK-TAKUMI series. GT2D enhances 2D graphics application of mobile AV equipment such as mobile audio, digital still and movie cameras. GT2D is the smallest gate count product, but can easily enrich the display such as the display of the graphical user interface, etc., with no impact on the cost of the LSI. There is functional compatibility with the 2D rendering functions included in the GSHARK-TAKUMI Family. For example, it is possible to use 3D cores for high end applications and to use the GT2D for cost conscious low end applications, thereby providing software compatibility.

Features
1.High performance 2D sprite engine
The 2D sprite engine has advanced 2D graphics functions such as image scaling, rotation, and free transformation, etc, and makes it possible to create various rich applications. CPU is relieved of the high burdens of graphics processing due to the hardware graphics IP.
2.Low power consumption core
Design methodologies have been used to achieve law gate counts, small area in SOC and low power consumption thereby achieving both high drawing performance and low power consumption, and hence making this ideally suitable for mobile equipment and digital consumer equipment.
3.Compatibility
There is software compatibility with the 2D sprite engine installed in the GSHARK-TAKUMI series. Hence it is possible to meet product variations in the lineup of customer's products and also to transport software easily using 2D features into the entire line-up of the products while exploiting existing software resources.
4.Easy system level integration
The data of the core is provided as a synthesizable RTL, so that the customers can integrate it without depending on the process of the ASIC. Also the RTL connecting with the customer's circuit can be modified by customers easily, therefore it is possible to customize and tune the interface section to suit the customer's design. For example, it is easy to integrate to SOC of the customer from a standard bus system such as AXI to an original bus system of the customer.
